If the waiting time for treatment at a public hospital exceeds 60 days

If your doctor has referred you to a hospital and you can’t be treated within 60 days, you may be able to take advantage of the Extended Free Hospital Choice offer.

Your GP or a specialist (often a dermatologist) will send a referral to a public hospital, and the hospital should get back to you with the expected waiting time within 8 days. The answer may relate to a waiting time for a preliminary examination, treatment or diagnostic test. If it is not possible to initiate treatment at a public hospital within 30 days, you can choose to request treatment at another hospital with a shorter waiting time. Please note that the selected hospital must be part of the agreement with the Danish Regions on Extended Free Choice of Hospital. Hudkræftklinikken.dk has such an agreement, and you can therefore choose to be treated with us.
